Currently serving as Senior Trial Counsel in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Alabama, Lloyd Peeples has established himself as a respected leader in federal law enforcement and criminal justice. Before attending law school, Lloyd Peeples earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from Washington & Lee University in 1995. Lloyd’s journey in law began with his academic achievements at the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 1998. His time at Cumberland was marked by academic excellence and leadership roles, including serving on the Cumberland Law Review and the Executive Board of the Trial Advocacy Board. Recognized for his expertise in criminal procedure and constitutional law, Lloyd Peeples received the prestigious Scholar of Merit honors in these fields. This early success laid the foundation for a career driven by a passion for legal advocacy.
Lloyd’s legal career began in public service as a Legislative Counsel for the Senate Judiciary Committee, where he addressed critical issues such as youth violence and antitrust laws. His role gave him valuable insights into legislative processes and deepened his commitment to shaping policy through legal means. Following a clerkship with Chief Judge Tamara O. Mitchell in the United States Bankruptcy Court, Lloyd Peeples transitioned to private practice at Bradley Arant Rose & White, LLP. He gained significant experience in complex litigation there, sharpening his legal skills in high-stakes environments.
In 2003, Lloyd Peeples returned to public service, joining the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Alabama. Over the years, he has held numerous leadership roles, including Deputy Chief, Civil/Criminal Health Care Fraud Coordinator, and eventually Chief of the Criminal Division. Lloyd Peeples’s work on high-profile cases underscores his dedication to upholding justice and prosecuting complex federal crimes.
Beyond his legal accomplishments, Lloyd Peeples has demonstrated versatility as Chief Executive Officer of Container Service Corporation. Despite his success in the corporate sector, his passion for law brought him back to public service, where his leadership continues to leave an indelible impact.
